Andrea Hobbs
Chair of Trustees

Andrea started her career caring for adolescent boys with SEND. Her experience of working with charities dates back to 2001 when she started work as a project worker with young carers and their parents. Since then she has managed 3 voluntary sector support organisations and gained a wealth of experience in setting up charities and supporting them with development and representation. As the volunteer Chair, Andrea's role at POSCH is to ensure that we run smoothly and we stick to our ethics and mission.

Hayley Jackson
Secretary

Hayley comes from a background of administration and events in the education sector as well as working and volunteering for community not-for-profit organisations. More recently she has worked with a children’s charity in remote Australia which implemented a place-based initiative providing early intervention and prevention support for disadvantaged children and families. Hayley currently manages the Community Office in Masham where she works with a variety of skilled volunteers to support access to services among other things. Hayley has become a Trustee with POSCH for personal reasons, having spent several years as a respite carer which gave her an insight into the life of a young man with Autism. The environment that families experience is confusing, complex and at times lonely. She believes in the approach that POSCH takes to support children and families and feel that she can contribute to the positive work POSCH undertakes as a trustee.

At POSCH Alyson is looking forward to working on writing bids for funding, developing policies and strategies and helping POSCH to grow to meet the increasing needs of our special children. Alyson comes along to group meetings whenever possible to make the coffee and develop a better understanding of the challenges faced by parents and carers.

Julie Blakey
Trustee

Like most people Julie first visited POSCH during a time of crisis in 2015 and the experience was so profound that she has never left! Julie subsequently joined the board in 2016. She and her partner have a son with Autism and she understands the pressure that this can put on parents. By being a trustee of POSCH she wants to ensure that parents with children with disabilities have somewhere to go to for support and advice.  She comes from a health background having worked for the NHS for over 20 years as a Registered Dietitian.
