Anita is the founder and Co-ordinator of POSCH. She is a parent of two very lively children and her oldest son has autism. As a parent carer Anita understands the joys, frustrations and exhaustion sometimes experienced in bringing up a child/young person with additional needs.
Anita has worked for over twenty years as a Primary Teacher & SENCO, Inclusion Officer for the local authority and a freelance trainer for the Council of Disabled Children. She is also a trustee for NYPACT (North Yorkshire Parents and Children Together) and strategically works in partnership with heads of services from Health, Education, Social Care to represent the parental voice and improve outcomes for families.
Anita set up POSCH with other local parents and professionals in 2015. She is very passionate about improving services for parents of disabled children/adults. Anita strongly believes in collective empowerment and ‘being the CHANGE you want to see!’
Anita owes her sanity, energy, happiness and joy to her daily meditation practices taught by the Bright Path Ishaya Ascension meditation. She is currently learning to play the guitar.
