Like most people Julie first visited POSCH during a time of crisis in 2015 and the experience was so profound that she has never left! Julie subsequently joined the board in 2016. She and her partner have a son with Autism and she understands the pressure that this can put on parents. By being a trustee of POSCH she wants to ensure that parents with children with disabilities have somewhere to go to for support and advice. She comes from a health background having worked for the NHS for over 20 years as a Registered Dietitian.
Julie became secretary in 2017 due to her eye for detail. Julie also volunteers with Hambleton FoodShare and helps to deliver emergency food parcels to those in need. She has also been known to make a mean bowl of soup to be served at Soup and a Roll.
In her spare time she enjoys singing with Northallerton Rock Choir and is particularly proud of the fact that she has performed on stage at the York Barbican along with 750 other Rockies. Julie also enjoys walking in the Yorkshire Dales and Moors with her family as well as going to the gym and cooking.
