I have always worked in a children and families setting and started my career caring for adolescent boys with SEND. My experience of working with charities dates back to 2001 when I started work as a project worker with young carers and their parents. Since then I have managed 3 voluntary sector support organisations and the Carers Centre in Hambleton and Richmondshire. I have gained experience in setting up charities and supporting them with development and representation.
Anita is the founder and Co-ordinator of POSCH. She is a parent of two very lively children and her oldest son has autism. As a parent carer Anita understands the joys, frustrations and exhaustion sometimes experienced in bringing up a child/young person with additional needs.
Like most people Julie first visited POSCH during a time of crisis in 2015 and the experience was so profound that she has never left! Julie subsequently joined the board in 2016.
John first came to POSCH in 2015 and was empowered by their approach to collective support. He was excited to join POSCH’s board in May 2017.
POSCH has a board of professional advisers.
